Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi started reciting the Holy Quran when he was just 6 years old. In the same age he even started the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat as well. At the age of 9 years old he learned the whole Holy Quran by heart and even learns the recitation of Kirat.

One of his blessed and most memorable achievements of his lifetime has been in 1987 when he was honored to recite the Darood-o-Salam inside the Roze Rasool. He is even known on the international level as well because he took part in many Islamic Recitation competitions that were held in overseas countries. In 1969 he won the very first competition on behalf of Pakistan in Malaysia. This was the time when his success and fame height went high up in the sky. After the Malaysia he also won the competition in Libya in 1979. In 1980 he won the competition of Recitation of Holy Quran in Saudia Arabia.

Ever since his foremost step in the Naat globe he has been continuously touching the sky limits with every passing year. In 1981 he once again won the competition in Syria. In 1970 he started reciting the Holy Quran verse on the radio programs as well under the supervision of the program named as “Sar Chashma-e- Hidayat”. This program helped him a lot in making his special place in every hook and corner of Pakistan and it was just through the radio that people started listening his Naat collections. However, even due to the enormous success height he left the radio and started working for the television.

In 1972 he recorded his first Naat titled as ”Arba-e- Qaseeda” (Allah Hu Allah Hu). This Naat was hugely well liked and appreciated by the people. Some of other famous and known Naat of Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi is Fasloon Ko takaluf hai hum say agar, Zahe Muqadar and Qaseeda-Burda Shareef.
